Fisher Price FP3 Player

Lauryn got this Fisher Price FP3 player for her birthday from her Grandpa and Grandma Thompson. This has got to be the coolest toy ever! The middle part come out and you can listen to it with head phones but it's so much more fun with the speakers. We have the primary program songs on here, a cd by sharon lois and bram, and stories! We don't have cable so, it's really fun to have this around. It's so convenient! No CDs that she could scratch up or lose! The best part is they made this system kid tough! Thank Heavens! Who needs an ipod when you've got this baby!

Popper Dog Walks

We bought this little fisher price popper dog for L's Birthday. She loves it so much! It has a little leash on it so she can take it for walks. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was walking twice a day, pretty much to see if labor would start. The walks started out with just me going alone, then B and I would go at night. Soon we were talking walks together everyday after dinner. That's when the popper dog came in. Since the popper dog had to be pulled to "pop" or bark L wouldn't ride in a stroller so, we would just walk around our townhouse complex. We had so much fun! We would stop at random houses to visit and meet people. Most people would say, "This is the first time anyone has just stopped by to visit us!" We have made so many new friends. It's interesting how just dropping by someones house for 10 minutes can change your total perspective of them. Now, I need to stop being so quick to judge! Thanks for the lesson popper dog!

VBAC: A success!!

September 13, 2007 my water broke at 3 am, one week before my due date. I was so happy and grateful! 9 months is just way to long! B and I called our neighbors, Sara and Dylan to come and be with Lauryn. They watched her all day till my mom could come. Bryan took forever getting ready to go to the hospital. I was ready in 5 min. Probably because of the stream of amniotic fluid that was leaking at a steady pace. I was also in a hurry because I tested positive for group B strep and I was trying for a VBAC. A Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Lauryn was an emergency c-section because she was in distress. I was very determined to have a natural birth.
My contractions never started regularly on their own. About 8 am they gave me the smallest amount of pitocin they could. At 9:45 am I got an epidural even though I was only dilated to a 3! My nurse totally lied for me! Thank heavens! At 10:50 am I was to a 10 and ready to push. I pushed for 10 minutes and Baby B was born at 11:01am! It was all so perfect! It was such a happy event. So much better than the emergency c-section. We are so grateful for our wonderful doctor who helped us through this pregnancy. I am recovering very well. I cannot tell you how much better I feel this time. Recovering from a c-section was one of the hardest things I've ever done!

Here's Brooklyn 2 days old. My dad took this cute photo!
