I'm Back!

I've cut my self off from the Internet. I was very addicted. I love blogging and looking at other people's blogs. Every time I had a second for myself I would sit down with my laptop for a few minutes. Those few minutes always turned into an hour if not two. I have felt so free these last two weeks. I've also felt very creative. Here's what I've been up to this week.

I've seen so many different versions of these appliqued onesies so I tried out my own version.

Here's a couple of girl quilts. Next step is to hand quilt them!

Easter Weekend in Pictures

Franny and Grandma dyeing Easter eggs. Franny had been waiting ALL week long for grandma, papa, and kira to come visit so we could dye eggs! She Loved it!

Cookie and Aunt Kira

Some of the finished eggs!

On Easter Morning Franny woke up with a fever so I stayed home with her while everyone else went to church. So, I don't have any pictures of us all dressed up together!

Here's what the Easter bunny left for the girls.

SURPRISE! The Basket was hidden in the washing machine or the "driver" and Franny calls it.

The Easter bunny also left 2 aprons for the girls. Here's Franny with hers on. My mom and I whipped them up the night before.

My cute mom!

Cheap Easter Center Piece. Remember the grass from the gift idea? I used it here too with some eggs we dyed and some candy.

Here's the dessert!

The girls favorite part was being with their PAPA! They love him so much!

After a yummy dinner we went on a little trip to the Palouse Falls. It's about an hour and a half from where we live. It was a great opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful outdoors! We all hope you had a wonderful Easter!! Much love, K

Easter Sugar Cookies!

The other night I stayed up late to pre-make sugar cookie dough and icing. I even colored the icing that night too! I've been wanting to make my mom's famous sugar cookies with Franny for a long time but it's such a project! By making most of the stuff the night before it really helped. We had so much fun! It's one of the family traditions that's been passed down. Sorry, no recipe. It's a family secret!

For Family Night we focused on the True Meaning of Easter. We explained about the resurrection of Christ and how Easter was a time to remember what Christ had done for us. Franny was so excited to learn about it. She told me, " Mom, I died, and I Live AGAIN!" It was so cute! After the lesson we went out for an easter egg hunt. Each egg had a picture of Christ inside. Franny was so excited to find each picture of Him. Then we had some ice cream for family night treat. While eating ice cream I asked Franny what Easter was about. She yelled out, "Easter Eggs!" Dang, she didn't get it. Oh, well. I tried. I'm sure she'll figure it out soon.
