I am drooling!

I've seen Amy Butler's big gumdrop pillows before and have thought to make them. When I saw the new cover of Mary Engelbreits Home Companion Magazine I started to drool! I want to make a bunch of pillows to go around my tree! Soooo CUTE!

Wordless Monday

Greenbluff

I have to go every year to Greenbluff. If I don't, fall just isn't the same. I love the smell of weird vendor food, apples, pumpkin donuts, and the crisp fall air. This year my Grandparents were in town when we went. It was so fun to have them with us. Franny got to ride a little pony named Misty. She loved it.

New York loved playing with the pumpkins and for some reason people would try to buy her. Maybe it was her hair. Happy Fall! love, the foutch fam

Pasta e Fagiol: Compare to Olive Garden

1/2 lb. hamburger cooked with 1/2 copped onion
1 Large Carrot or 1 cup cut into short strips
3 Stalks Celery or 1 cup chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
2- 14 oz can diced tomato
1- 14 oz red kidney beans with liquid
1- 15 oz can great northern beans with liquid
1- 15 oz can tomato sauce
1- 12oz can V8
1 Tbsp White Vinegar
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
1/2 lb of Ditalini pasta

Brown beef with onion in large pot and drain fat. Add carrot, celery, and garlic. Saute with beef for 10 min. Add remaining ingredients except pasta. Simmer on low for 1 hour. 50 min into simmering cook in 2 quarts of water and drain. Cook noodles just under done. Add pasta to the soup and simmer 10 more minutes and serve.


My mother serves this soup with these bread sticks. They are simply rhodes rolls, rolled out into bread sticks. You also dip them in butter and Parmesan cheese. Let them rise and then bake at 350 for 9-11 minutes.
This soup is a family favorite and makes a lot. Invite a neighbor family over to share it with and you'll still be eating for lunch the next day! Enjoy! love, K

Knitting up a Storm

Last Christmas my mom taught me how to knit so I bought this beautiful book, Easy Baby Knits. During General Conference my mother helped me remember how to knit again since I hadn't done it since she last taught me. I've been working on this little baby scarf for New York. I am hoping to do one for Fanny and myself. It is so easy and relaxing. It's nice to have a project that is easy to put down and pick back up again. I took my knitting to the dentist while I was in the waiting room. I felt really old. But cool at the same time! ;) Knitting is cool. love, K

Welcome to our Town!

Himmy's brother is in town! We love him! He is seriously so fun. There is never a dull moment around him. We got up early today and went to breakfast at the famous Breakfast Club. Soooo good! Then we hit the farmers market. Yes, there was a group of marimba players there. They were so good and the music pretty much rocked. Next we hit the Organic Farm. They had a u-pick pumpkin patch, hay rides, hot apple cider, and lots of other stuff too. Franny loved the pumpkins and the dirt. Happy Fall! love, K

RS Birthday Idea

My current calling is the compassionate service leader. I am in charge of several things. One of my jobs is to do birthdays. I wanted to do something fun and memorable. I came up with these little blocks with their monogram on it. I love them! I really love how the pictures turned out. I took the blocks out to the old school house with me to take pictures. By the way each block ened up costing about $1.50. I bought a 2x4 for $3 and chopped it into 30 4x4 blocks. Enjoy! Much love, K

Historical Site

Yesterday a bunch of us mothers took our kids out to a local historical site. There was an old church and school house that the kids could explore. The best part was, there was nothing they could break! It was such a beautiful day out. There was even and old water pump. The kids loved getting soaked by it. Franny found some old grave stones. She was so excited when she saw them. She ran to them saying, "Mama, mama! Look at the big rocks!" Seriously, this is how much she loves rocks.

I won!

A local fabric shop had their 1st birthday! They had a great party and if you dressed up in pink and brown you got %50 of one item! I got a bunch of my friends together to go and we had a blast! There was a grand prize for the best dressed in pink and brown. I totally won! I couldn't believe it! I actually won something! Cape Number 2

This cape was made for Franny's little friend. Franny's didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to. This cape however is a much better version. I love the fabric that my friend picked out for it! It is perfect!

It's Offical!

I am now the photographer for Strawberry Pearl Studios! I am so excited! When I went antiquing today I took some of the products with me in case I found some good places to shoot. And I did! I love how the photos turned out! Thanks Strawberry Pearl!

Open Eye

Welcome to the Open Eye Consignment Shop. It's located in Palouse Washington, just 20 min from were I live! I cannot tell you how much fun I had this morning. My friend Krystal and I woke up early to get there right when it opened. (We also had to be back in time for my husband's class) This store is not only jam packed of wonderful goodies but it is also the most reasonably priced consignment shop I have ever been in! Check out my loot!

Miscellaneous

This is a gift from Strawberry Pearl Studios. My upstairs neighbor and good friend owns and runs the studio. She made a baby gift seen here and she had me wrap it up. I took a jar, put the gift inside, and stuffed it will pages from magazines. It turned out so cute! It was cheap to do but it looks expensive!Here's a little project I did for my girl's room. They love it! I took thick board tiles and glue gunned ribbon to the back. I also made push pins.
I've been working on my craft space. It still needs help but it's getting better! I love it!

Before and After

I found this shelf at a local antiques mall. It was exactly what I had been looking for, well not EXACTLY. The pistachio green wasn't working out so I got out the spray paint. I took it apart and left some other hooks off. I love the way it turned out. The cute lamp was bought at WalMArt for 8$! WalMart now carries a bunch of Better Homes and Gardens products, including the 8$ lamp I bought. The rest of the accessories I already had. My good friend Michelle helped me spray paint the shelf. This is what I've learned from her, Don't under estimate the power of spray paint!
