Happy Birthday Jeff!

Tonight we celebrated my father in laws 51st birthday. We all had a great time chatting and eating some scrumptious cake.

While everything was going on, I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot. Here's the outcome. Everyone was great! We all had a good laugh taking these photos.

Baby Shower Cupcakes

For Jackie's shower I was going to make my famous pumpkin bars. I kept with the idea and did mini cupcakes with the recipe. My pumpkin bars have previously been referred to as "Clouds of fluffy deliciousness". So, they were mini clouds of fluffy deliciousness. Turned out they were a big hit and a perfect size for a baby shower. You should make then at the next shower you host!

Q & A:

Q= Jade asked, "How do you do the frosting?"

A= I just use the same frosting recipe as in the pumpkin bar link above. You simply put the frosting into a quart sized Ziploc bag and snip the corner as large as you want the frosting swirl. Then start with the outer rim of the cupcake working in to the enter and pull up at the end to create a cute top! Also, if the frosting is too thick to pipe out just stick the bag of frosting into the microwave for 5 seconds. (if it doesn't work the first time, do another 5 seconds)Good Luck!

Jackie's Quilt

For Jackie's Surprise shower my mom and I also did a surprise quilt! I had bought a kit from this talented lady, a while back. I gave it to Jackie to make for her baby boy. She quilted the top together. I took it home and told her I would give it back to her if I didn't finish it. I lied and told her I had left it with my mom.

Next I basted it together for her since she's pregnant and cannot use the basting spray. Then I machine quilted it and sewed on the binding. The night before the shower the blanket wasn't finished. I thought I wouldn't get it done in time.

I went over to my friend Melissa's that night to watch the BL and we finished it in two hours! We were hauling! Here's the final product. Jackie picked out the red back. I love it! Good Choice Jackie! I also love the diagonal machine quilting. It was my mom's suggestion. Good one mom! Thanks everyone for making this quilt a success!

Jackie's Surprise Shower

I threw a surprise shower for my good friend Jackie. I was very nervous about the whole thing. My cover story was, her family was coming over to carve pumpkins with our family. She showed up with her pumpkin and even a plate of cookies. She was very surprised. I had a great time designing everything! I was so happy that so many people showed up. It was a great success.

Last Week

Can I just say, I had a HARD last week! Seriously, I felt like the whole world was against me. I would go into detail but, it would take forever. So, in short I'm grateful for dear friends. My neighbor figured out that I was having a hard time and stopped by with this beautiful rose:

Then I let out a sigh of relief. I was reminded that I wasn't alone. This friend did a small and simple thing however, the impact it had on me was great. She had no idea of all the things that were happening but, she acted on a prompting she received. How grateful I am that she listened. Thanks Friend! I love you!

Art Week in SLC

I REALLY wanted to attend this:

I mentioned it to my mom the other day. I showed her Nicole's web site. She loved it. The next day my parents came to me and they said,

"Dad will pay your classes and I will pay for your airfare."

I couldn't believe it! I was so shocked and happy that my parents would support me.

I went to pay for the classes and they were all FULL! I was so upset. I still am upset. If you know of anyone who is trying to sell their ticket PLEASE let me know by Thursday of this week! I was so hoping to get into Nicole's Photography Classes and some of the photoshop classes.
