VBAC: A success!!

September 13, 2007 my water broke at 3 am, one week before my due date. I was so happy and grateful! 9 months is just way to long! B and I called our neighbors, Sara and Dylan to come and be with Lauryn. They watched her all day till my mom could come. Bryan took forever getting ready to go to the hospital. I was ready in 5 min. Probably because of the stream of amniotic fluid that was leaking at a steady pace. I was also in a hurry because I tested positive for group B strep and I was trying for a VBAC. A Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Lauryn was an emergency c-section because she was in distress. I was very determined to have a natural birth.
My contractions never started regularly on their own. About 8 am they gave me the smallest amount of pitocin they could. At 9:45 am I got an epidural even though I was only dilated to a 3! My nurse totally lied for me! Thank heavens! At 10:50 am I was to a 10 and ready to push. I pushed for 10 minutes and Baby B was born at 11:01am! It was all so perfect! It was such a happy event. So much better than the emergency c-section. We are so grateful for our wonderful doctor who helped us through this pregnancy. I am recovering very well. I cannot tell you how much better I feel this time. Recovering from a c-section was one of the hardest things I've ever done!

Here's Brooklyn 2 days old. My dad took this cute photo!

That last pic of her (that your dad took) needs to be on the Family Website! It's the cutest one of her yet! Glad you're feeling better, and back in Bloggy land!

P.S. I tagged you for a meme right after Brooklyn was born...e-mail me if you need the link.
